SPARKLING SKINNY WATERMELON MARGARITA

When you hear summer, you think of long sunny days and warm evenings, sunkissed, sunscreen coated skin, and our favorite, freshly cut and perfectly chilled watermelon. So now that we’ve got you in your summertime-fine feels, we’re about to shake up something extra fun as we head into everyone’s favorite season. Let us introduce you to your new taco Tuesday, sunset happy hour, and poolside sippin’ companion, the Sparkling Skinny Watermelon Margarita.
The base is classic: blanco tequila, fresh lime juice, triple sec, a touch of agave. But where most watermelon margaritas reach for a syrup or a mix, this one uses real watermelon and the perfect pop of juicy-licious sparkle, Watermelon Bubbles, for a finish that's bright, clean, and ultra refreshing.
No artificial flavoring. No weird aftertaste. Just real fruit, real sparkle, and a real good time. The margarita you actually want at the end of June.
What You'll Need:
For the cocktail:
- 1 bottle Watermelon Bubbles
- 3 fl oz blanco tequila
- 2 fl oz fresh lime juice (about 2 limes)
- 1 fl oz triple sec or Cointreau
- ½ tbsp agave nectar
- 1 cup fresh seedless watermelon, cubed
- 2 cups ice
For finishing:
- 2 tbsp coarse salt or Tajín (for rimming)
- Watermelon slices or lime wheels, for garnish
What You'll Do:
- Rim the glasses. Run a lime wedge around the rim of two glasses. Dip each rim into coarse salt or Tajín and set aside. (Tajín — yes, always.)
- Juice the watermelon. Add 1 cup of watermelon cubes to a blender and blitz until smooth, or muddle well in a cocktail shaker. Strain through a fine mesh sieve to yield about 2–3 oz of fresh juice. Discard the pulp.
- Shake it up. Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Add the tequila, lime juice, triple sec, agave nectar, and fresh watermelon juice. Shake vigorously for about 15 seconds until everything is well chilled and frothy at the edges.
- Pour and top. Strain into your rimmed glasses over fresh ice. Slowly pour Watermelon Bubbles over each glass to top. Make sure to add slowly to keep the bubbles alive. Give it the gentlest stir.
- Garnish and serve. Add a watermelon slice or lime wheel. Serve immediately — those bubbles aren't waiting around.
Tips & Variations
- Make it a mocktail. Skip the tequila and triple sec. Add an extra squeeze of lime and a splash of coconut water before topping with JUST Watermelon Bubbles. Just as refreshing, zero regrets, full bubbles.
- Batch it for a crowd. Multiply the tequila, lime juice, triple sec, and agave by the number of servings you need. Mix in a pitcher ahead of time. Keep your JUST Watermelon Bubbles cold and pour to order so the fizz stays lively — sparkling water added to a pre-mixed batch is always the right call.
- Tajín rim = yes. The chili-lime salt plays beautifully against the sweet watermelon and tart lime. If you like a little kick with your sip, don't skip it.
- Fresh lime only. This one's non-negotiable. Bottled lime juice flattens the whole drink. Two limes, rolled firmly on the counter before cutting, will give you everything you need.
