Fiber might not be the sexiest topic to cover, but let’s be real—more fiber means more regularity, and more regularity means less constipation and feeling our best, which is sexy. Beyond our bathroom schedule, fiber also plays an important role in other important areas of our health, including keeping our energy levels steady, our blood sugar stable, and our belly’s full. The problem? Most of us have a hard time getting adequate fiber in our diets since most fiber-rich foods come from whole-natural sources that tend to be lacking in the standard American diet.

Fear not, fiber fanatics! Today, we’re sharing our favorite ways to sneak more fiber into our diet, including our go-to cleansing concoction that’s chock-full of nutrients AND flavor!

Our Favorite Fiber Hacks

  1. Seed the Deal: Chia seeds and flaxseeds are your new best friends! Toss them into smoothies, yogurt, or baked goodies. They’ll not only boost your fiber but also sprinkle in some healthy omega-3s.
  2. Snack Attack Upgrade: Ditch those boring potato chips and say hello to air-popped popcorn with a sprinkle of nutritional yeast or roasted chickpeas.
  3. Saucy Veggies: Blend up some sneaky veggies like carrots, spinach, or zucchini into your pasta sauces or soups.
  4. Whole Grain Goodness: Make the switch to whole grains for your bread, pasta, and rice. Whole grains are packed with fiber and retain all that good stuff (the bran and germ).
  5. Legume Love: Beans, lentils, and peas are fiber powerhouses! Toss them into salads and soups or enjoy them as a side dish.
  6. Veggie Variety: Load up on fiber-rich veggies like artichokes, broccoli, Brussels sprouts, and sweet potatoes. Roast, steam, or sauté them for a delightful addition to any meal.
  7. Supplement Your Fiber: If you’re still falling short, consider a natural fiber supplement. Just make sure it’s free from added sugars and artificial ingredients.

What You’ll Need…

  • 1 medium cucumber, peeled and chopped
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice
  • 1-2 teaspoons honey or agave syrup (optional, adjust to taste)
  • 1 cup Cucumber Bubbles
  • Mint leaves (for garnish)
  • Ice cubes

What You’ll Do…

  1. Toss the chopped cucumber, lime juice, and honey/agave syrup into a blender. Blend until smooth.
  2. Want a smoother sip? Strain the mixture through a fine mesh sieve to remove the pulp. Prefer a little texture? Keep it as is—your call!
  3. Stir in the chia seeds and let it sit for about 10 minutes. This gives the seeds time to soak up some liquid and expand, creating a fun texture.
  4. Fill a glass with ice cubes, pour the cucumber mixture over the ice, and top it off with Cucumber Bubbles.
  5. Add some fresh mint leaves for a pop of color, give it a gentle stir, and voilà! Serve, sip, and enjoy!
