DRY JANUARY: THE MATCHA-MOSA MORNING MOCKTAIL
Written by Jamie Fletcher
Looking for a fresh take on a classic brunch bevvy? This Matcha-Mosa Morning Mocktail is the perfect dry January-approved swap for a classic mimosa, and for our caffeinated cocktail connoisseurs, a healthy alternative to a nitro-charged espresso martini.
Light, bright, and beautifully layered, this drink combines the natural energy-boosting powers of ceremonial grade matcha green tea with the vitamin C-packed burst of fresh orange juice. Finished with a pop of refreshing sparkle from Valencia Orange Bubbles, this drink is the ultimate sunrise sip.
Besides delicious, this mocktail is brimming with body-boosting benefits. Matcha provides a steady, calm caffeine lift thanks to its unique blend of antioxidants and amino acids, while the vitamin C in orange juice supports your immune system and enhances the absorption of matcha’s beneficial compounds. It’s the perfect way to keep your spirits lifted, without the spirits.
What You’ll Need…
- • 1 teaspoons ceremonial grade matcha (1 teaspoon per glass)
- • 2oz water to make the matcha concentrate
- • 2oz orange juice (pulp-free works best here)
- • 2oz-3oz chilled Valencia Orange Bubbles
What You’ll Do…
- Make matcha by either whisking with a chasen, using a hand-held frother, or shaking matcha and water in a mason jar like a cocktail. Mix matcha and water thoroughly to make a concentrate.
- Pour Valencia Orange Bubbles into a champagne flute or serving glass of choice.
- Slowly add your orange juice, making sure to leave room for your matcha!
- Slowly layer in your matcha concentrate on top.
- Sip, serve, and enjoy!
